Milestones: 4 Months

In two days, Noah will be 4 months old. It’s incredible how fast time has gone. I know, that's not the last time I'll say that.

The past month has been full of new milestones for Noah. As he continues to change and learn new things, I can’t help but watch in awe as I witness the learning process happening exactly as God designed it.

Here’s a list of Noah’s latest milestones:

  1. Laughing out loud (it cracks me up every time I hear it!)
  2. Screaming for no reason loud enough to hurt your ears
  3. Rolling over from tummy to back
  4. Rolling over from back to tummy
  5. Slept through the night (only once, but hey, we got excited)
  6. Teething (drooling like mad and little white buds poking through on bottom)

A Laughing Matter

While he looks very serious in the photo above, Noah began laughing for the first time today! This morning he was very close before we left for church, but then this evening when I was getting him ready for bed I tickled him and made silly noises—and he actually laughed out loud! What a wonderful sound!

Noah’s bedtime is quickly becoming my favorite time of day. When I get home from work I play with him a little bit, then read him stories and get him ready for bed. After a diaper change and getting into jammies I’ll usually rock him for about 5 minutes and then he’s out. Lately he’s been a little unwilling to go down right away so I’ve taken to singing to him. Even if he’s screaming, he’ll stop just to listen to me and watch my face as I sing. I love it! So now that’s becoming part of the routine and I couldn’t be happier. So for anyone who will be babysitting, better start practicing—do re me fa sol la ti do!

Noah fills our lives with so much joy. We are so blessed! As for the photo above (click on it for a larger version), that’s Noah’s serious pose. He wanted something that looked stately and sophisticated. Not sure the outfit lends itself to sophistication, but he made it work :)
