My baby is transforming in to a little boy before my eyes. These past nine months have flow by a lot faster than the nine I was pregnant! Noah enjoyed the holidays with all of his cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents. He loved opening gifts and tearing wrapping paper. All the toys he got make noise which keeps him interacting with them longer and I know where he is. He has been on the move since Thanksgiving and is pulling himself up on all the furniture ... and Mom’s legs. This week he’s discovered he can open cabinets--time for the next phase of baby proofing.
In November I finished treatment for the tendentious that settled in my thumb after Noah was born. It got to be so painful that I would be in tears doing simple things like folding laundry, brushing my teeth or pouring a drink. Any movement in the thumb and wrist was extremely painful. I can’t believe I tolerated it for more than six months before going to a doctor. I was hoping it would heal on its own. I got a cortisone shot (OUCH!) and went to physical therapy for three weeks. Within the first week I was back to 100% mobility and strength. I am VERY thankful for God’s mercy and healing.

In early December Noah started clapping open handed. The noise caught him by surprise. It’s fun to see him expressing himself when he is happy or excited. He also loves to clap along to songs like Pat-a-cake or some of the other songs we sing from his infant music class.
Noah has just gotten his second tooth (both on the bottom). We’ve nicknamed him “piranha” this week because he is biting everything. He loves to use his new teeth to eat solid foods and has mastered feeding himself small finger foods. I haven’t noticed a favorite food but he is definitely NOT a fan of apple cinnamon oatmeal.
We enjoyed having Ryan home with us the last two weeks of the year. It’s been quite an adjustment for me staying home with just a baby to talk to all day. Ryan and I have been working together for more than three years before Noah was born.

Noah has become quite the cuddler and enjoys reading books with us when he gets to turn the pages. One of his favorite books is The Hungry Caterpillar because he can stick his tiny little fingers in the holes of the fruit. Noah also LOVES bath time. He giggles and kicks with excitement when you run the water to fill the tub.

The past nine months have been such a blessing to both Ryan and me. We look forward to upcoming milestones with Noah as he learns to walk and celebrating his first birthday.
