On Sunday, May 17, 2009 my parents and Monica got to watch me cross the stage at Columbia College Chicago’s commencement exercise to earn my master’s degree in creative writing. It feels so good to be done. I feel like I have gained time back in my life to spend with my wife and new baby.
Noah has been changing so much in just the past three weeks. He’s surpassed his birth weight and is exercising his lungs and vocal cords regularly. Usually around the time mom and dad are used to sleeping. But we’re all learning this new life. And even with the challenging times, it’s such a joy and blessing to have him here.
Today was such a beautiful day so Monica took Noah for a walk with her sister Lauren and nephew Hayden. It was Noah’s first walk aside from a trip to Target last week (and one of his first trips outside save for Dr. visits). It was good for him and Monica to get out as she really hasn’t been able to since Noah came home.
I promise to post more pictures of Noah soon. I’ve been taking them, just haven’t done anything with them afterwards. Here’s one taken a few days ago.

Congratulations Ryan!
I also have gone back to school. I am working on my BS of legal studies at Keiser University. Peggy and I are also working on our BS of Theology at Maranatha Christian College - which is an online course of study.
You and your family look extremely happy. Noah looks proud of his dad
